Want to really shift gears, throw a wrench into an otherwise traditional panel discussion? Ask one of your panelists to ask a question to a specific audience member!
That’s right…..pick one panelist to select one audience member (known or unknown to the panelist – doesn’t matter) and ask the panelist to ask that audience member a question!
That question can be a poll, a query for more information, or just a random question: “Are you having a good day today?” Regardless, it creates curiosity in the crowd, and makes them lean forward, thinking, “Ok, at any point they could call me out!”
Only do this once or twice. Maybe three times tops. Otherwise, the audience might high-jack the panel discussion!
